It’s been a busy year!

We’re pleased that Turn the Talk successfully launched this year as an independent project to help constructively address what needs to improve, and to support change in 2019.

We took part in a webinar on International Women’s Day and discussed what more can be done to ensure gender balance at conferences and on panels. In May we uncovered the findings from the industry’s first independent survey into public speaking. The report addressed barriers to public speaking, how inclusive and freely available opportunities are, and what support is needed to encourage new voices to take to the stage. In July we held our inaugural workshop, a free event which provided an inclusive environment for anyone interested in developing their confidence in public speaking.

And to close the year Turn the Talk are hosting a Christmas Drinks Meetup.

Join us for a few informal networking drinks, the chance to talk about the project, and share what diversity and inclusion means to you. We would also love to hear your thoughts on what initiatives and events Turn the Talk should focus on in 2020.
